Serves 4-6
1. Bring the water and salt to a boil in a pan, slowly add the maize meal in a steady stream, until it forms a cone shape in the center of the pan.
2. Add a lid, bring to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, or until a ‘skin’ has formed around the maize meal.
3. Now stir the mixture with a fork until the consistency is fine and crumbly.
4. Replace the lid and simmer over very low heat until done (about 35 minutes), stirring occasionally with a fork to break any lumps.
