Sorullitos De Maiz – Puerto Rico
1. In a medium saucepan boil the water.
2. Add salt, sugar, and corn meal and stir until they form a soft ball that separates from the sides of the pot.
3. Remove from heat.
4. Add the cheese and stir.
5. Cover with clean dishcloth and wait 5 minutes.
6. Form the sorullitos by scoping a heaping teaspoon of the mixture, forming a ball first, then rolling it in your hand into a sorullito.
7. Fry and serve.
