Pastelillos Volaos de Queso o de Guayaba – Puerto Rico
1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
3. Cut shortening into the flour mixture.
4. Using a blender mix egg and water well.
5. Add liquid mixture to flour and mix well using a fork.
6. Divide the dough into 10 pieces.
7. Work each piece at a time with a rolling pin until it is the size of a small plate.
8. Add about a tablespoon of stuffing in the middle, fold in half. These may be stuffed with shredded cheese, guava paste, or seasoned ground beef
9. Secure edges by pressing with a fork.
10. Fry. When done, place on paper towels to absorb extra oil.
